2022 Olympic Games. ROC - Switzerland - 1:0

In the first match of the men's ice hockey competition, ROC managed to cling on against Switzerland, claiming a tense 1:0 victory to make a winning start to the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

The only goal of proceedings was scored with a mere three seconds remaining in the opening period, as a Swiss player inadvertently deflected Anton Slepyshev's attempt beyond stranded goalkeeper Reto Berra.

Solid ROC goaltender Ivan Fedotov stopped all 33 shots he faced.

ROC will now prepare to face Denmark at the tournament on Friday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 07:10 Moscow time.
