VHL referees engaged in a meeting ahead of the playoffs

The All-Russian Hockey League (VHL), together with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), staged a meeting in Moscow Region with the referees and inspectors selected to work over the upcoming playoff matches of the OLIMPBET VHL Russian Championship.

VHL Managing Director Alexander Kiknadze, Chairman of the RIHF Disciplinary Committee Vladimir Katkov and Head VHL Referee Mikhail Karpushin addressed the meeting's participants.

Sergei Kulakov, the Head of the RIHF's Refereeing Department for Organising the Refereeing of Championships and All-Russian Competitions, analysed several game situations from the 2025/2026 regular season related to fouls committed by players which posed a threat to the health of others on the ice. The referees were provided with explanations and guidelines for applying the rules in certain specific situations.

The VHL playoffs are scheduled to begin on 22 March.
