The traditional spring tournament series for Russia's best young hockey players, the Tretiak Cup, has concluded.

Competitions across four age groups were held in five cities. The final tournament, for players born in 2014, concluded in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region. On the final day, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak attended the tournament, presenting the medalists with their prizes and participating in an autograph session.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:

"Tournaments for the most successful youth teams are a great spring tradition! The path to the most prestigious titles and trophies begins in childhood.

"I'm glad we have the opportunity to create such a celebration for young players, inspiring them to achieve new successes and victories. At this age, every experience is unforgettable.

"Russian hockey is successfully developing in various parts of the country. This spring, the Tretiak Cup was held in Yekaterinburg, Almetyevsk, Kirov and Kirovo-Chepetsk. I would like to thank the cities and regions for the excellent organisation of the competition and for their cooperation with the RIHF in developing youth hockey. The Tretiak Cup was also held at the highest level in Krasnogorsk, which in recent years has become one of the flagship centres for the development of our sport.

"These competitions are also important because they promote youth hockey. We face a major challenge: engaging as many of our compatriots as possible in sport and a healthy lifestyle. I would like to thank all the fans who followed the Tretiak Cups this spring and supported their teams. I congratulate all the tournament participants on having the opportunity to play with their strongest peers and prove themselves. There are no losers here, but they gain valuable experience that will help them take a step forward in their respective careers."
