A commemorative logo will be used for the 2026/2027 season

Hockey Day is marked in Russia on 22 December, a celebration which unites millions of fans of our favourite sport and coincides with the date when the maiden matches of the USSR Championship were staged.

This year, as a consequence of Russian ice hockey celebrating its 80th anniversary, it's geared up to be an extra-special event.

The entire 2026/2027 season will be dedicated to this significant date. Eight decades of victories, triumphs, outstanding achievements and vibrant traditions have made ice hockey an integral part of Russia's national sporting culture and rightfully cemented its status as one of our country's leading sports.

In honour of the 80th anniversary of Russian ice hockey, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation has prepared a large-scale celebratory program which includes a number of commemorative and exciting events. Their main goal is to preserve the memory of legendary moments of our ice hockey, commemorate great victories and pay tribute to outstanding players, coaches, referees, managers and all those who, with their talent, dedication and devotion, have brought glory to Russian hockey both in Russia and far beyond its borders.

A specially designed logo for the celebration serves as the symbol of the anniversary season. It will form the basis of a unified corporate identity for all commemorative events and become a recognisable symbol of the important anniversary of our fantastic sport which continues to bring generations together.
