Vladislav Tretiak visited Tambov

While visiting Tambov Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), held a meeting with Evgeny Pervyshov, the Governor of Tambov Region.
The parties discussed the development process of ice hockey and other sports in the region.
Furthermore, Tretiak also visited the Tambov Hockey Club Academy, where he spoke with more than 100 junior players about his experience of reaching the top, what approach to use for the training process and matches, discipline and psychological aspects of the sport.
RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"Our sport has been developing in Tambov Region for over 50 years already! HC Tambov regularly qualify for the VHL playoffs, while their NMHL side won the league three years ago and reached the final of the competition two seasons straight. More than 8,500 residents of Tambov Region are engaging in ice hockey, and the number of children enrolled in sporting academies exceeds 600. The region already possesses six indoor rinks, but work is ongoing to improve the infrastructure here.
"The governor is actively involved in the development of the sports system and is fully committed to ice hockey's best interests. During our conversation, Evgeny and I discussed the current state of affairs and how we can cooperate further. It's vital that we engage as many children as possible in physical education, and ice hockey is a really effective tool. We have to ensure that everyone competes with character, respect for their teammates and coaches, discipline and pride. The RIHF is providing comprehensive support for ice hockey across regions of our country, and today we spoke about the steps which need to be taken in order to make even more dynamic progress.
"Such productive meetings always provide us with inspiration. I'm always happy to meet with young players and talk with them about my journey. After all, there are some essential things which are required if you want to be successful. If you want to become a champion, you have to work hard. This is what we're teaching the next generation! I really do help that our conversations are helpful and consequently assist them in making progress on the ice."
