The President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), Vladislav Tretiak, along with the Governor of Omsk Region, Vitaly Khotsenko, visited the Avangard Academy in Omsk.
Tretiak attended an on-ice training session, speaking with the goalkeepers and sharing his personal experiences concerning game preparation and the secrets to building a successful professional career. Furthermore, Tretiak was also told about the specifics of combining ice hockey training and education.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"Our strategic focus on improving the quality of work in youth hockey is based on the implementation of innovation, modern technology and cutting-edge teaching methods. It's positive that leading development centres for our sport are embracing this approach and creating excellent facilities for the younger generation. We see this commitment to scientific research, attention to all important aspects of training and the refinement of specialised skills at the Avangard Academy.

"It's important that programs for coaches are being developed and implemented. After all, it's the coach who inspires progress, and it's their work which determines the fate of future champions. In Omsk Region, a program has been launched to train specialist instructors who can teach hockey on a large scale. This is undoubtedly a productive and useful initiative which contributes to the growth of our sport.
"The Avangard Academy possesses modern skating rinks, gyms and classrooms. The more such development centres there are in our country, the better for the entire national hockey system. The most talented students from youth sports schools and academies should have a real chance of reaching professional level."
