2020 World W18 Championship. USA W18 - Russia W18

The under 18 Russian women's national team will face the USA in the semi-finals of the 2020 IIHF World W18 Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia.
In Group A, the Americans earned a slender 1:0 victory against Russia, with the winning goal arriving in the concluding moments of the third period. The USA, beating the Russians and Finns (4:1) did lose 1:2 to Canada in their concluding group match, but that didn't prevent them from qualifying directly for the semi-finals in second place.
Beating Finland 4:2 and conceding two defeats against Canada (2:3 OT) and the USA, Russia earned third place of Group A, subsequently dropping into the quarter-finals in which the team comfortably defeated Sweden 4:0 with goals from Kristina Glukharyova, Veronika Korzhakova, Kristi Shashkina and Vita Ponyatovskaya.
Canada and Finland make up the other semi-final pairing.
Puck drop is scheduled for 18:30 Moscow time.
