10.08.2017

Russia U18 head coach Alexander Zybin:

- We played an excellent match against a good opponent. Today, the players were solid in the neutral zone. Our goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov was great too, he made some important saves. The guys did well in attack, they set up inside Finland's zone and created opportunities. Everyone stuck to the game plan. The Dmitry Zavgorodniy-Matvey Guskov-Pavel Rotenberg line has being playing successfully, and they managed to score three goals today.

Russia U18 goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov:

- It's nice to be named the match's best player, it was a decisive game before the semi-final stage. All of the guys gave everything in order to win. It was difficult at the end when Finland swapped their goalkeeper for the extra skater, but the players helped me with their committment. It's great that we can have a rest tomorrow before the semi-finals.

Russia U18 forward Matvey Guskov:

- My goal was the third in today's match. For my goal, I managed to force it over the line on a rebound. My line has being playing well at this tournament, but the whole team has helped us. We're a united group and we fight for victories together.

Russia U18 defenseman Anton Malyshev:

- It was an important match for us, a game which we won because of our team spirit. The Finns moved well, but we had analysed how they play before the match. We knew that they are very good on the counterattack. We started well in this game, we weren't relaxed after the large victory against Slovakia. We had to win in order to qualify for the next stage. Finland took off their goalkeeper in the dying moments, we were a man down for a long time. We're well prepared for this competition, we worked hard during pre-season.
