Happy birthday, Sergei Yashin!

On the 6th of March, 1988 Olympic champion Sergei Yashin celebrates his birthday. Today he turned 54 years old. The Russian Ice Hockey Federation wishes him a very happy birthday, as well as health and happiness!

Born on the 6th of March 1962 in Penza

Played for Dizelist Penza and HC Dynamo Moscow

Also played in Germany and Switzerland for Dynamo Berlin, Wilhelmshaven and Davos

Periodically returned to Russia, represented SKA Saint Petersburg and Neftekhimik

1988 Olympic champion, 1986 and 1989 world champion, 1985, 1986 and 1989 European champion

Played in 35 Olympic and World Championship matches, scored seven goals 

Played in six Canada Cup matches in 1984

1990 USSR champion, 1980, 1985, 1986 and 1987 USSR championship silver medalist, bronze medalist in 1981-1983, 1988. Scored 128 goals in 354 USSR championship matches.
