2017 Winter Universiade. Semi-final. Russia - Canada

Today on the 7th of February, the Russian student national team will compete in the 2017 Winter Universiade semi-final against Canada.

Russia have been unstoppable at this tournament so far, brushing aside South Korea 14:0, Latvia 7:1 and Japan 14:0 and 9:2. The latter triumpg against the Japanese came in the quarter-final stage, with our players recovering from a second period blip to calmly ease in the next stage. Andrei Alexeev is the team's top scorer at the moment with twelve points (5+7).

Despite those comfortable victories, Canada will offer a much sterner challenge today. They are also perfect in the competition, seeing off the USA 6:0, Great Britain 14:0 and Slovakia 5:3. In the quarter-finals, they beat Latvia 5:2.
