Vladislav Tretiak talks about Russia 25's victory against the Belarusians

President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretiak:

"Congratulations to all fans with Russia's win! I enjoyed our team's performance. The guys demonstrated a professional approach with discipline, determination and commitment. They were solid in defence and sharp in attack. Our team created plenty of clear opportunities, scoring enough goals to emerge victorious. We achieved a positive result and an entertaining show of ice hockey.

"I'd like to praise the entire team; as usual, I won't single out any of the skaters. But I will praise goaltender Maxim Motorygin! Maxim did a great job; in his debut for the national team, he played confidently and pulled off several top stops. Of course, it's a shame that he couldn't quite hold on for a shutout, but he still played excellently. When I made my debut for the national team, I also conceded one goal. Without a shadow of a doubt, Motorygin deserved his award as Russia's player of the game. Ivan Kulbakov was also deservedly named the best Belarusian player.

"I want to thank the entire Belarusian team, as well as our friends and partners from the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association. We appreciate their openness to cooperation and their willingness to compete at this tournament. As we can see, games between our teams are always very interesting. Furthermore, we can see that Belarus are constantly improving. Our collaboration will continue to grow!"
