Russia - Finland. A statistical look

- In 128 matches, Russia have 62 victories against Finland. 50 of them have come in regulation.

- Never before had Russia beaten Finland in normal time in Saint Petersburg. In 2012, the team lost to the Finns 0:2, while a year later, Russia defeated Finland 4:3 in a penalty shootout.

- The overall goal difference between Russia and Finland at the Swedish Hockey Games is now 53-52 in Russia's favour.

- Defensemen Zakhar Arzamastsev, Damir Musin and Yegor Rykov, as well as forwards Kirill Kaprizov, Alexei Kruchinin, Maxim Mamin and Artyom Fyodorov, all made their senior national team debuts. 

- Alexei Kruchinin is the sixteenth Russian player to score in his first Euro Hockey Tour game. Interestingly, seven of those sixteen debut scores netted their first marker in a match against Finland. Also, defenseman Zakhar Arzamastsev and Yegor Rykov tallied up assists.

- Nikolai Prokhorkin has competed in 25 Russia matches, taking four points (2+2).

- From 20 national team appearances, Stepan Sannikov boasts three points (1+2). 

- Vladislav Gavrikov has one goal from ten Russian games.

- Ilya Lyubushkin has played in ten Euro Hockey Tour fixtures.

- Vladimir Tkachyov has taken five points in just nine Euro Hockey Tour games (2+3).

- Goaltender Igor Shestyorkin earned his sixth consecutive national team victory. Five have come in normal time, with another in a shootout. 

- All of Anatoly Golyshev's three goals for the national side have come against Finland.
