The best from the 2016/2017 VHL semi-finals
DYNAMO'S BRILLIANT RUN
The Balashikha outfit were ruthless in their thrashing of Zauralye, requiring only four matches to see off their opponents 4:0! However, as a downside, they will now have ten days rest before the final. Dynamo will play VHL regular season winners Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk, who defeated Rubin Tyumen 4:2. Interestingly, both of Rubin's victories came on the road - they failed to pick up a home win, form which cost them a final berth.
STRIKERS
Dmitry Markovin (7+9) and Vladislav Efremov (6+10) from Dynamo are both leading the way in points with 16 each. Their nearest challengers are Torpedo's Alexander Shin on 12 (5+7) and Evgeny Rymarev with 10 (7+3).
MEDALS
Because Torpedo from Kazakhstan made the final, Dynamo Balashikha have already been crowned the Russian championship gold medalists. Zauralye have silver, while Rubin are awarded with bronze.
