Anton Korredor: "The guys impressed with their work ethic and discipline"

Following the completion of the Sirius Cup, head coach of the under 16 Russian national team Anton Korredor shared his impressions from the tournament itself and the training camp.

Russia U16 head coach Anton Korredor:

"Overall, this was a really productive training camp. We managed to get a closer look at a large group of candidates for the national team. The guys listened to what we had to say, worked hard and stuck to the plan. We achieved all of our set goals.

"The facilities here at Sirius really are fantastic! Naturally enough, they also played their role in what was a successful camp. Nonetheless, a lot depended on just how hard the players worked. I would like to point out their impressive work ethic and discipline.

"What did we mainly focus on during our sessions? Taking into account that the players had only just returned from their holidays, we mainly focused on skating, puck work and shooting techniques. Furthermore, we also gradually began shifting our emphasis to tactical work so that the guys begin to understand what's required of them when representing Russia. Our players took big steps forward.

"Given that they all play for different clubs, we wanted to see how they can adapt to our way of playing. The fact we have healthy competition within the group is also pleasing."
