Friendly match ahead of the 2021 WJC. Russia U20 - Canada U20 - 0:1

In a friendly match ahead of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship, the under 20 Russian national team came up short against Canada in Edmonton, conceding a slender 0:1 defeat.

The only goal was scored by Jamie Drysdale in the third period. 

In the Russian net, Yaroslav Askarov had played all of the opening 40 minutes, before he was replaced by Artur Akhtyamov ahead of the third frame. 

Russia will now prepare to face the USA in the first game of the competition at 05:30 Moscow time on December 26.
