2025 Future Cup. Russia U20 - Russia U18 - 6:4

06.11.2025
In a goal-filled thriller, Russia U20 defeated their U20 counterparts in the maiden game of the Future Cup, earning an entertaining 6:4 triumph in Saint Petersburg!

Our U20s twice had to come from behind against their younger opponents, who remained in with a shout throughout and came close to completing a dramatic comeback in the third frame.

Indeed, when 2:5 down and with the game seemingly done as a contest, our U18s fought back and suddenly got back to within one.

Russia U18 were now competing with the initiative following their two quickfire markers. However, the minutes rapidly ran down as the frame progressed, and our U20s iced it with a late empty-netter.

Friday will see Russia U18 face Belarus U20 at 14:00 local time, before our U20 team later face Kazakhstan U20 at 17:30.
