The 2026 Generation Cup will take place in Saint Petersburg

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation can confirm that Saint Petersburg will host the 2026 Generation Cup on 28 February.
The event will see teams representing the National Junior Hockey League (NMHL) and Student Hockey League (SHL) compete against one another in a special exhibition match at the Yubileyny Arena.
The Generation Cup has indeed been held using this current format since 2019. So far, the SHL has celebrated three victories in comparison to the NMHL's two.
The SHL did indeed win in Perm (5:4 OT), Saransk (4:3) and Magnitogorsk (4:2), with the NMHL triumphing in Novomoskovsk (4:2) and Kaliningrad (4:0).
