29.05.2021
In the fifth match of the 2021 IIHF World Championship, the senior Russian national team pushed past Switzerland in a tight battle, emerging victorious by a score of 4:1 with three late goals in the third period.

During the second stanza, Anton Burdasov scored on the powerplay to break the deadlock, but the Swiss replied with an equaliser in the 49th minute of play as Nico Hischier got the better of Alexander Samonov.

Nevertheless, our players weren't to be denied, as Pavel Karnaukhov hit the jackpot a mere two minutes later. Sergei Tolchinsky then doubled the advantage in the 53rd minute, before the same player iced it with an empty-netter after Switzerland had pulled Reto Berra in favour of the extra skater.
