2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Czech Republic U18 - Russia U18

The under 18 Russian national team will play against the Czech Republic in the third match of the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
In their opening game, Russia managed to defeat Finland 5:2 in the opening game of the tournament, with Ilya Kvochko, Matvei Michkov (2), Mikhail Gulyaev and Gleb Trikozov all scoring and in-form goaltender Sergei Ivanov stopping 35 of the 37 shots he faced.
Subsequently, our players comfortably dealt with the challenge posed by Switzerland, coasting to an emphatic 9:2 victory yesterday. Six of the nine goals arrived during a second-period blitz, with Michkov, Kirill Kudryatsev, Semyon Sinyatkin, Ruslan Gazizov, Alexander Perevalov and Artyom Barabosha all hitting the target. Ivan Miroshnichenko, Perevalov and Michkov subsequently rounded off the show with a further three markers in the third period.
Goalkeeper Sergei Murashov stopped 23 of the 25 Swiss shots he faced.
For their part, the Czechs have tallied one victory against Switzerland (3:0) and a narrow penalty shootout loss to Finland (3:4 SO).
