A master class was held in the eastern part of Moscow by Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and one of the most successful goalkeepers in the history of the sport.

The three-time Olympic champion and ten-time world champion taught the young players key on-ice techniques, with skaters and goalkeepers alike participating in a series of dynamic drills designed to master and reinforce essential skills. This training program draws on Tretiak’s unique personal coaching experience and addresses the many nuances required for success at professional level.

Furthermore, participants received commemorative gifts from the RIHF President.

The ice training session was organised as part of the "Strength of Russia" all-Russian sports marathon. This large-scale project, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among the public, features master classes led by the country's most renowned athletes.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:

"Moscow is a leading force in the development of Russian sport, including ice hockey. The capital boasts numerous rinks and offers superb facilities for both training and competitions. Special emphasis is placed on grassroots sports, particularly for children.

"The boys and girls who gathered for the session were full of enthusiasm! I was delighted to share my personal experience and explain what needs to be done during the early years of a hockey career to eventually reach elite level. The young players learned about exercises that will help them become the best in the country and go on to win World Championships and Olympic titles."
