Karjala Cup. Sweden - Russia
Today on the 5th of November, the senior Russian national team will take on Sweden in the second Karjala Cup match in Helsinki, Finland.
Our players got off to a flyer on Thursday, destroyed hosts Finland 5:1. Forward Anatoly Golyshev was the star of the show, netting two goals. Linemate Valery Nichushkin impressed too with three assists, and they bot will be expected to lead the attack again. Ilya Sorokin put in a solid showing between the pipes.
Sweden also began strongly, seeing off the challenge of the Czech Republic. The last two times these two countries met was at the World Cup, where Sweden took a 2:1 victory. However, both teams have totally different rosters for this competition.
The Sweden – Russia match will begin at 14.30 Moscow time in Helsinki, Finland. Match TV will broadcast live in Russia.
