A discussion concerning the development of student ice hockey took place

A working meeting on the development of student hockey in the country was held at the office of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF).

It was attended by the Chairman of the General Meeting of the Student Hockey League (SHL), General Director of the RIHF Dmitry Kurbatov, President of the Russian Student Sports Union (RSSU) Sergei Kryukov, Deputy General Director of the RIHF Alexey Kireev, Advisor to the President of the RSSU Evgeny Sorokin and Director of the SHL Anton Khramtsov.

The main topics for discussion during the meeting were:
- strategic areas of the SHL;
- prospects for international cooperation in the 2025/26 season;
- the possibility of including an ice hockey tournament in the program of the All-Russian Winter Universiade in 2026;
- holding the SHL All-Star Game in September 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod, timed to coincide with the International Youth Forum;
- development of a strategy for the creation of interuniversity regional hockey centers;
– formats of media support for the activities of the SHL, including the integration of the Universliga brand.
