The RIHF extends its condolences

Andrei Martemyanov, an ice hockey coach who regularly worked in the Kontinental Hockey League, has sadly passed away at the age of 61.

He coached Amur Khabarovsk, Sibir Novosibirsk and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the league, helping them to qualify for the Gagarin Cup playoffs on a regular basis.

Previously, before he had turned his hand to coaching, Andrei played for Avtomobilist, CSKA Moscow, Metallurg Magnitogorsk and CSK VVS in Russia, while also competing in Slovenia and Germany.

As a player on the international stage, he won the U18 European Championship (1981), the World Junior Championship (1983), the Universiade (1989) and the Izvestia Prize (1992).

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation extends its sincere condolences to Andrei's family and friends.
