Forum concerning anti-doping
15.07.2024
Between the 10th and 11th of July, the All-Russian “Sport. Anti-Doping. Health. The Practice of Interdepartmental Interaction" forum took place.
Representatives of RUSADA, federal and regional ministries and departments in the fields of sport, healthcare, education, law enforcement agencies, universities, physical education and sporting organisations from 50 regions of Russia gathered at the forum. The forum demonstrated the serious involvement of a large number of different government agencies in the process of forming an anti-doping culture in Russia. Anti-doping education programs are implemented for athletes, coaches, medical workers, parents and amateur athletes.
It's worth pointing out that several cooperation agreements with RUSADA were signed during the event.
Russian Sport Minister Mikhail Degtyaryov emphasised that the topic of violating anti-doping rules cannot be justified in any way. It is necessary to work not only to improve the doping control procedure itself and the system of punishment for violations of anti-doping rules, but also to make greater use of preventive measures to combat doping. It is obvious that the problem can be finally solved only by methodically creating a culture of zero tolerance towards doping in society, starting from students of children’s and youth schools, parents and head coaches of the country’s national teams.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation is always ready to cooperate in the field of anti-doping and implements its educational activities on an ongoing basis.
