Official RIHF statement concerning the staging of the KHL

The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) sent a proposal to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) to terminate agreements concerning the delegation of rights to host the Russian Ice Hockey Championship among men's and women's teams and the Russian Ice Hockey Championship among juniors under the age of 21.

These agreements on the delegation of rights are valid until the end of April 2025. The KHL proposal will be considered by the RIHF Board.

It should be noted that bill No. 622018-8 named "Amendments to the Federal Law on Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation” adopted in the third reading by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Article 3 of the Federal Law named “Public Law Company Unified Gambling Regulator” and amendments made to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation, permit the formation in Russia of sporting leagues which conduct competitions independently outside of the sporting federations.
