In the final of the 2022 Liga Stavok St. Petersburg Cup, the senior Russian national team defeated Belarus by a score of 3:2 to consequently win the competition.

Belarus quickly opened up a two-goal lead within the maiden eight minutes as Alexander Skorenov and Stepan Zvyagin hit the target.

However, our players got back on level terms before the first period reached its conclusion, with Danil Bashkirov and Marat Khusnutdinov beating Belarusian goaltender Konstantin Shostak.

The decisive goal was tallied by Ilya Safonov with an accurate wrister from long distance midway through the second stanza.

In the concluding minutes, Belarus pulled Shostak in favour of the extra skater, but Russia - with Dmitry Nikolaev in solid form between the pipes - successfully saw the game out.
