Euro Hockey Tour. Russia - Finland. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation takes a look at the statistics to emerge from the maiden 2021/2022 Euro Hockey Tour match against Finland (0:3):

- Goalkeeper Dmitry Shugaev, defensemen Alexander Nikishin, Nikita Novikov and Sergei Telegin and forwards Vitaly Abramov, Daniil Vovchenko, Nikita Guslistov, Ivan Zinchenko, Matvei Michkov, Dmitry Rashevsky, Fyodor Svechkov and Nikita Tertyshny all made their debuts for the senior Russian national team. Overall, 606 (54 goaltenders, 202 defensemen, 350 forwards) have now played for the senior Russian national team;

- At the age of 16 years, 11 months and 2 days, teenage forward Matvei Michkov became the youngest player to play for the senior Russian national team. The previous record had been held by fellow forward Alexander Ovechkin (17 years, 11 months, 5 days). In Soviet times, goalkeeper Vladislav Tretiak had participated in his first match for the senior national team when 17 years, 7 months and 8 days of age;

- Forward Dmitry Voronkov made his 15th appearance for the senior Russian national team. So far, he has picked up nine (4+5) points;

- Nikita Tertyshny has followed in his father Alexei's footsteps in playing for Russia at senior international level. Alexei Tertyshny competed in his maiden game for his country in September 2001.
