Russian National Team lost to Americans in penalty shootout

Game with the Americans was expected with great interest - it is certainly the strongest rival on the group stage. Teams startedactively, for the first half a minute Ilya Kovalchuk used bodychecks twice. In general, Russians looked more active, but they couldn’t create any unsolvable problems for Quick.

It was exciting after break – the most part of quantitative advantage was in the beginning of the second period, Kane with partners played in our zone confidently.

The most dramatic moment happened on the 56 minute – Quick intentionally moved gates and after 2 seconds Fyodor Tyutin shooted from the blue line under the crossbar. By total “film” watching referees didn’t counted goal.

On Overtime Kane had a chic moment – he ran in alone with Bobrovski, tried to send puck between guards but our goalkeeper coped with formidable striker attack.
