Alexander Yakushev is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame

On November 12, Soviet ice hockey player, double Olympic champion and seven time world champion Alexander Yakushev was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada.

Alongside Alexander Yakushev, Martin Brodeur, Martin Saint Louis and Jayna Hefford were also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Willie O'Ree, the first black player to partcipate in the NHL, and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman were also given their places in the museum.

Alexander Yakushev is the third Soviet player to join the Hockey Hall of Fame having never played in the NHL. Valery Kharlamov and Vladislav Tretyak are the others. Vyacheslav Fetisov, Igor Larionov, Pavel Bure, Sergei Fyodorov and Sergei Makarov are the other Russians in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
