27.05.2026
Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), attended the closing ceremony of the 2025/2026 campaign for CSKA Moscow's academy.
The three-time Olympic champion presented special awards to the players and coaches, spoke with the young athletes and provided them with advice concerning their future professional careers.
RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"This season can be regarded as a success for the CSKA system, with various age groups achieving great things in their respective competitions. I myself progressed through the CSKA set-up, and I know that only victory is acceptable for this organisation. We knew that we could never afford to lose! In order to build successful professional careers, you always have to strive to be first in everything you do.
"When speaking to the academy's players, I always emphasise the importance of discipline, professionalism and hard work. These factors are imperative if you want to be successful at the highest level. You must always strive to be the best, analyse your mistakes, want to develop and constantly become stronger.
"Ice hockey is an important source of national pride. In the Russian ice hockey system, we're succeeding in creating the best possible facilities for our young, up-and-coming talents. Top-notch coaching methods are being implemented, while our players have the opportunity to take the next step and develop further. They can break into the NMHL and MHL, establish themselves in the VHL and aim to reach the very top. After receiving a higher education, they can also continue to play our sport in the Student Hockey League. For its part, the RIHF is closely monitoring players and giving them chances to show their capabilities with the national team. They work under the guidance of the country's best coaches and participate in a wide range of international tournaments."
