23.04.2026
A cooperation agreement between the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and the Sirius Federal Territory has been formalised.

The document was signed by Vladislav Tretiak, the President of the RIHF, and Dmitry Plishkin, the Head of the Sirius Federal Territory. The agreement provides for comprehensive cooperation in the areas of ice hockey development and promotion.

The collaboration is aimed at creating conditions for the development of youth ice hockey at Sirius. The parties will continue to organise various competitions and training camps, introducing new training methods for both players and coaches. Furthermore, the joint development of an ice hockey progression program at Sirius is also envisaged with a particular emphasis on youth ice hockey.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:

"Thirteen years have passed since we launched major ice hockey on the shores of the Black Sea. In April 2013, the Bolshoi and Shayba Olympic arenas hosted their first competition – the World Junior Championships. And, in December of that same year, the senior Russian national team competed at the Channel One Cup here in Sochi.

"Ice hockey is now a vital part of our Olympic capital, with our sport successfully developing at amateur, professional and youth level. In partnership with the Sirius Educational Centre, the RIHF has been implementing a unique, unparalleled training program for talented young players for already nine years! Over the past four years alone more than 200 teams and 6,000 athletes have received the opportunity to improve their skills.

"Our collaboration with the Sirius Federal Territory has in fact been in place for several years. Sirius offers excellent training opportunities, superb infrastructure and ideal facilities for young players. Competitions and training camps meet the highest standards"

"In April, another historic event is taking place here at Sirius: the final of the first-ever Russian Cup. This is symbolic, as our cooperation expands with every passing year with plenty of new joint projects ahead."
