Reaction after defeating Kazakhstan U18 in Belarus
11.11.2022
Following the emphatic 7:1 win against Kazakhstan U18 at the President's Sporting Club Cup in Minsk, Belarus, under 16 Russian national team head coach Dmitry Mikhailov and forward Danila Semikhin shared their emotions.
Russia U16 head coach Dmitry Mikhailov:
- We knew that we were going to compete against an older team than us. Thanks to the superb commitment and excellent goaltending, we managed to keep in the game. When we started scoring goals, we gained confidence. Yes, we took some penalties in the second stanza, but we held on and subsequently saw the match out successfully. Everything went our way in the third.
Russia U16 forward Danila Semikhin:
- Just like we wanted, we managed to play solidly in defence and capitalise on our scoring opportunities. It's a useful experience for us here competing against older opponents, it will help us greatly in the future. We have a great atmosphere within our group, all of us want to win matches!
