In memory of Konstantin Loktev

June 16th is the 87th anniversary of Konstantin Loktev's birthday. During his career as an ice hockey player, Konstantin won the Olympic Games once and the World Championship on three occasions.  

Having spent his childhood in the Moscow district of Sokolniki, he begun his career with HC Spartak Moscow. Later on, he joined the successful CSKA Moscow team and won the USSR championship for the first time in 1995. Konstantin went on to become an Olympic and world champion with the USSR national team.

After the completion of his playing career, Konstantin became a senior coach for CSKA Moscow and the USSR national side. Between 1993 and 1994, he was the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's vice-president.

Konstantin sadly passed away on the 4th of November 1996.
