Evgeny Bobariko and Anna Shokhina speak after playing Finland at the 2022 Olympics

08.02.2022
Following the 0:5 defeat to Finland in the last game of the group stage at the 2022 Olympic Games, ROC women's ice hockey team head coach Evgeny Bobariko and forward Anna Shokhina shared their emotions.

Head coach Evgeny Bobariko:

- We lost out in terms of movement today, the opponents were faster than us. Any tactics are thrown out of the window if you can't keep up with the opposing team. Probably, we were lacking freshness and confidence. For their part, the Finns were really mobile on the ice, whereas this was our worst performance of the tournament concerning our movement. However, the quarter-final is the most important game, and we have two days in which to prepare. We are looking to the future with optimism. We know that the Swiss will compete with speed, but we'll be ready. Lyudmila Belyakova? We found out during the day that she would be available to play in this match. At this moment in time, we don't have any information about the other players.

Forward Anna Shokhina:

- We started poorly in this game, maybe fatigue had built up. Nevertheless, we improved and played well in the third period. It's great that Lyudmila Belyakova is with us again after taking a negative test, we're waiting for the rest of the girls to return too!
