Meeting concerning medical support in the NMHL

On November 22, a meeting on medical support concerning the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL) was held.
The event, held in an online format, was attended by specialists from the medical department of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and representatives of the medical departments of clubs participating in the NMHL. The participants discussed issues concerning the prevention of injuries and diseases, including infectious diseases.
Particular attention was paid to the updated regulations put in place by the Russian Ministry of Sport and the Rospotrebnadzor organisation with regard to the organisation of sporting events in the Russian Federation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The key issue of discussion was the cancellation of PCR testing for players who are vaccinated or have recovered from coronavirus.
Club doctors exchanged their experiences of working on the prevention of the coronavirus infection, other illnesses and the treatment of players, while also discussing the criteria for allowing athletes to start training again following their recovery.
