Karjala Cup. Czech Republic - Russia. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation takes a closer look at the statistics to emerge from the senior national team's 3:0 victory against the Czech Republic at the 2020 Karjala Cup in Helsinki, Finland:
- Russia have now won the Karjala Cup eight times;
- The first goal was the Russians' 200th in the history of the Karjala Cup;
- At the age of 18 years, four months and 23 days, Yaroslav Askarov became the youngest goalkeeper to earn a shutout for the senior Russian national team. The previous record was held by Andrei Vasilevskiy (19 days, nine months, eight days) on 3 May 2014 in a 6:0 triumph over the Czechs in the Euro Hockey Tour;
- However, the overall record still belongs to Vladislav Tretiak, who gained his maiden shutout for the senior USSR national team in a 11:0 win against Poland at the 1970 World Championship when he was 17 years and 11 months of age;
- Young forward Rodion Amirov became the first player of the senior Russian national team to score in all of his maiden three appearances in the Euro Hockey Tour. Furthermore, he is the fourth Russian player to score in all three Karjala Cup matches, following in the footsteps of Pyotr Schastliviy (2006), Danis Zaripov (2009) and Alexander Radulov (2011);
- Forward Takhir Mingachyov made his debut for the senior national team.
