On December 18, president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretiak visited Omsk.

Vladislav held a business meeting with Alexander Burkov, the governor of Omsk Region. One of the topics of conversation was to hold the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship not just in Novosibirsk, but in two cities. This was mentioned at the International Ice Hockey Federation congress in Malta earlier this year.

The RIHF president noted that this idea has been approved by the IIHF and a final decision will be made in March.

As a part of his visit, Vladislav Tretiak visited the Avangard ice hockey academy which is being put together.
