01.12.2014

The Ice Hockey Federation of Russia presented the official logo of the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship that will take place in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, from 6 to 22 May 2016.

The final version is based on the logo that was introduced in Slovakia at the 2011 IIHF Annual Congress.

The logo has recognizable features of both hosting cities: the Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin in Moscow and the Dvortsoviy Bridge on the background of the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg. The logo was designed in traditional style of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) with the use of colours of the Russian national flag. The crossed hockey sticks and the flying puck symbolize the upcoming exciting games and unforgettable emotions.
