The RIHF and the VHL will hold the Supreme Hockey League in the 2016/2017 season

The RIHF and the VHL have agreed on a three year deal to hold the VHL championship.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation looks upon the VHL as an important part of Russian ice hockey's development, and plans to continue working with the VHL in the future to improve infrastructure and tournament organisation. The VHL covers a large area of Russia geographically, and this is a good impulse to develop regional ice hockey.
In the near future, the RIHF plans to meet with regional governors and heads of VHL clubs to discuss about their participation in the Supreme Hockey League next season.
