- Sergei Bobrovsky became the first Russian goaltender in history to take a shutout at three separate World Championships, beating Ilya Bryzgalov's, Semyon Varlamov's and Andrei Trefilov's previous best of two. However, Vladislav Tretyak still holds the all time record with clean sheets spread over seven different World Championship tournaments, and other Soviet goalkeepers Nikolai Puchkov and Viktor Kovalenko shut the opponents out at four individual World Championships.

- Also, from 20 World Championship matches, Sergei Bobrovsky has four shutouts to his name.

- Anton Belov played his 75th match for the Russian national team, with Sergei Kalinin making his 40th appearance.

- With 62 points from 60 Russia matches (21+41), Vadim Shipachyov averages more than a point a game. At World Championships, Vadim has 21 (8+13) from only 20 fixtures.

- Captain Pavel Datsyuk made his 20th World Championship assist.

- Evgeny Dadonov netted his 10th goal for Russia.

- Defenseman Maxim Chudinov has 20 points with the side (7+13).
