A youth tournament took place in Penza

The Legends of the Future Indilight Cup was staged in Penza from the 27th to the 29th of July.

Teams from Penza, Kuznetsk, Nizhny Lomov, Moscow, Essentuki, Rostov and Tyumen participated in the competition. They all consisted of players born in 2015.

The tournament was organised by the Damate Group of Companies and the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sport of Penza Region with the support of the Governor of Penza Region and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation.

Alexander Ovechkin, a Stanley Cup winner and one of the best players in world ice hockey history, was the competition's guest of honour.



Alexander Ovechkin:

"Children's path towards professional sport begins with such tournaments, as they provide them with the opportunity to display their talents. True professionals develop as a consequence of these competitions. Without encountering challenging moments and working as a team, it's not possible to learn how to achieve success."

Governor of Penza Region Oleg Melnichenko:
