Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk held the third Bright Match in WHL history!

Sakhalin has made a splash on the Women's Hockey League (WHL) scene this season. The new club boldly announced itself, competing for top spots from its very first matches and attracting the attention of fans across the country.
On 18 January, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk took another important step in the development of women's ice hockey in the region: for the first time in history, the WHL's Bright Match was held there! This special league project combined sporting elements with the atmosphere of a large family celebration, transforming a routine game into a significant event for the city and the entire island.

Furthermore, home side Sakhalin proved their worth against SKSO, earning an emphatic 4:0 victory and controlling the game throughout.

The event drew nearly 1,200 spectators to the stands, consequently becoming a clear demonstration of how much Sakhalin loves women's ice hockey!
