Red Machine training camp in Norilsk
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and its long-standing partner, Nornickel, held another training camp in Norilsk.
The camp was attended by players from regional ice hockey clubs. Several dozen young players, who play ice hockey in Norilsk, Dudinka and Kaerkan, trained using the methods of the Red Machine National Development Program which was developed and implemented by the RIHF together with Nornickel. The camp included on-ice training sessions, theoretical lessons, master classes from RHF specialists, gym work and training matches.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"Norilsk's ice hockey successes are made possible primarily by the dedication of Nornickel President Vladimir Potanin. We thank Vladimir for his love of hockey and for the support which he provides in all aspects of its development. In Norilsk, special attention is paid to the development of junior players. The RIHF is delighted to stage training events which are organised in accordance with the Red Machine National Development Program. The harsh conditions of the Arctic Circle forge players' unique character and forge their will to win! It is especially important that here, literally at the edge of the world, we can lay the foundation for future success—practising the basic skills which will shape every young hockey player's path to the top. Nornickel's support creates unique opportunities for the development of junior hockey in the region, and the creation of a professional VHL team provides the local children with a real benchmark for growth. I'm confident that many future champions will grow up in Norilsk, and the Red Machine training camps will help these players become true world stars of our sport."
