Russia U17 Defeat Belarus U18 Again in Minsk Friendly

29.08.2025

Unlike the game the day before, this match followed a completely different scenario from the very start. The painful loss left a deep mark on the hosts, and they immediately brought maximum intensity against our team. As a result, the first goal of the game went past Daniil Shuvalov. However, the Russians didn’t flinch — first leveling the play and then forcing a penalty that led to a power play goal. After 20 minutes, the score was tied 1:1.

In the second period, with both sides at full strength, Russia’s juniors had the upper hand once again, which forced another Belarus penalty. Dmitry Savin capitalized on the man advantage. But after that, it was the Russian team that started taking penalties, and right before the break, Vladimir Karabayev restored the draw on the scoreboard.

During the intermission, Andrey Mironov and his assistants clearly had a serious talk with the players. The result was exactly what was needed: Russia scored while shutting the opposition down. Bogdan Vasilevsky found the back of the net twice in the final 20 minutes, securing a second straight win for the Russian juniors.

The final friendly between the two teams will take place on August 30, with puck drop scheduled for 13:00 Moscow time.
