Russia U17 opens Minsk Friendly Series with convincing win
The game began on fairly equal terms, but soon the Russian juniors took control, scoring twice: Mikhail Bulgakov opened the scoring at even strength, and Nazar Privalov doubled the lead on the power play just before intermission. The second period followed a similar pattern, as Russia added two more goals in quick succession — Ivan Kovalenko made it 3–0, and just over a minute later Artyom Mishin extended the lead to four. A brief lapse resulted in a penalty that the hosts converted, but midway through the third period Bogdan Vasilevsky netted Russia’s fifth. From there, neither side managed to trouble the goalkeepers again.
On August 29, the teams will meet again. Puck drop is set for 17:00 Moscow time.
