Despite losing to the under 18 Russian national team by a score of 1:2 in the concluding match of the Liga Stavok Cup of the Future, Russia U20 did still finish in first position of the tournament standings.

After Mikhail Kabat had initially given our under 20 side the lead on the powerplay in the first frame, late goals from Alexander Plesovskikh and Makar Fomin in the second presented Russia U18 with a hard-fought victory.
