Thanks from the Russian President
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has issued thanks to the main figures in Russian ice hockey for helping the popularization and development of the sport in Russia.
The thanks are connected with the 70th anniversary of Russian ice hockey. Among the 113 people included in the thanks list are Vladislav Tretyak, Zinetula Bilyaletdinov, Vyacheslav Bykov, Alexei Gusarov, Valery Kamensky, Alexei Kasatonov, Boris Mayorov, Sergei Makarov, Boris Mikhailov, Alexander Mogilniy, Vladimir Myshkin, Vladimir Petrov, Vyacheslav Starshinov, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Andrei Khomutov, Alexander Yakushev and others. Russian national team head coach Oleg Znarok and under 20 Russian national side boss Valery Bragin also received thanks.
Members of Russian ice hockey organisations such as RIHF board chairman Arkady Rotenberg, RIHF first vice-president Roman Rotenberg, RIHF director Dmitry Kurbatov and RIHF board members Vladimir Yurzinov, Gennady Timchenko, Alexei Zhamnov and Alexander Medvedev were included in the list as well.
