Liga Stavok Sochi Hockey Open. Russia - Admiral - 1:2

In the second game of the 2023 Liga Stavok Sochi Hockey Open, the Russian national team suffered a narrow defeat to KHL side Admiral Vladivostok, conceding a 1:2 loss.

Semyon Sinyatkin equalised for Russia in the 18th minute following Alexander Shevchenko's opener in the 15th. However, in the fifth minute of the second stanza, Giovanni Fiore struck what turned out to be the winner for Admiral.

In accordance with the tournament regulations, an overtime period and a penalty shootout were subsequently held regardless. Daniil Gutik netted in the extra frame, before Admiral also stole the shootout with Tyler Graovac and Fiore scoring.

Russia will return to competition action on Monday against Avangard Omsk. Puck-drop is scheduled for 14:30 Moscow time.
