Camp founder Shumi Babaev:
- Thanks to the support of Liga Stavok, the RIHF and the Red Machine National Development Program, we have taken our yearly training camp to a new level. I also want to note that it's free for the players to train here. At the moment we have 70 players training at our camp, and I would like to thank the RIHF for providing us with all of the required facilities and equipment. The players are working hard both on and off the ice. Overall, it's nice that Russian players are treating pre-season preparations with more seriousness. 15 years ago, only 10 people used to take part in this summer camp.
Forward Arseniy Gritsyuk:
- It's great to train at this camp, I've had the opportunity to speak to some of my former teammates while meeting new people at the same time. In comparison to training by yourself, it's a lot better to train in a group. We can exchange advice and tips. Excellent coaches are working with us, they're teaching us new training schemes. Ahead of the pre-season summer camps with our respective teams, it's vital to be in good shape.
Forward Damir Zhafyarov:
- Being in good shape is an important part of the job for any professional ice hockey player, none of us can afford to relax for too long! We're training on the ice and in the gym on a daily basis, all of the required facilities are here. Not only young players need to train a lot, more experienced guys need to too. When I was younger, I only used to give myself a week off training at the start of the off-season. Personally, I always start missing ice hockey a week following the completion of the campaign, so I train here from May until the start of the pre-season camps. I would like to thank the organisers of this camp, especially Liga Stavok.
