Reaction after the Russia U20 Whites defeated Belarus U21
27.05.2023
Representatives of the Russia U20 Whites shared their emotions after defeating Belarus U21 in the first game of the Liga Stavok Cup of the Future:
Russia U20 Whites head coach Alexander Titov:
- First of all, I want to thank our guys for this performance. At first we looked a little bit stilted, but we subsequently got rid of our nerves and started playing in the correct manner. At our two-week long training camp, we had worked on competing with aggression and taking the game to our opponents. I'm happy with how we executed our game plan today.
Russia U20 Whites forward Ruslan Gimbatov:
- We certainly weren't prepared to give in after initially conceding the opening goal, instead we continued playing in accordance with our plan. I received a knock to the face? Ice hockey is a sport in which you have to make sacrifices for the benefit of the team.
Russia U20 Whites forward Maxim Velikov:
- We started with some nerves today, a lot of our early passes weren't particularly accurate. But, after conceding the opening marker, we subsequently gained confidence and everything started to go our way. We will now focus on showing our best ice hockey in our next game of the competition.
